Overview:
Selmaville CCSD 10 seeks a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team. As a School Nurse, you will play a crucial role in promoting the health and well-being of our students, providing essential medical care, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning. Responsibilities:
Conduct health assessments and screenings for students, including vision, hearing, and growth monitoring.
Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.
Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic health conditions.
Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics and preventive measures.
Collaborate with teachers, administrator, and other personnel to promote a healthy school environment.
Maintains accurate health records and documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Participate in school-wide health promotion initiatives and activities.
Serve as a liaison between the school, community health agencies, and medical providers.
Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school nursing and health care.
Qualifications:
A valid nursing license.
Current CPR and first aid certification.
Previous experience in school nursing is preferred.
Strong assessment, clinical, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
